Zoo Trip

The zoo finished a major remodel project and we were excited to visit. It turned out to not be very exciting because many of the animals weren’t out together yet.

The train was amazing, and the girls loved it.

I love this lion drinking fountain. I have pictures of me and my sisters drinking out of the same one as children.

All 3 girls were obsessed with this rooster! He was brave, and clearly wanted a handout.

We spent the most time by the sea lions and seals. The girls love the big underwater windows

The polar bear was pretty active, but it makes me so sad watching it pace constantly whenever we are there.

There were a couple small cats in one of the buildings that I don’t think I have ever seen before. They were adorable.

This was the first time it was cool enough that Kaylee could sit on the metal tigers

Trip to the Zoo

Robert and I took the girls to the Zoo on Saturday, and I was SO thankful that I never tried to do it by myself. Kaylee loved it, but was frustrated at our “slow” pace while we were trying to show the babies everything. She was really disappointed that we couldn’t play all day at the playground there. It was too cold and too busy to let the babies play, and they were not happy just sitting around watching her play.

I always love the Elephants. They are amazing to watch, and I always wish I could spend more time there. The little girls thought they were pretty cool, and Alexis was excited that she knew their sound. I had Courtney up on my back for a while, but she wanted down once we were in the buildings with the seals and otters.

The live Rinos were sleeping, so we played for a while on this one.

I love my beautiful girls!

Next up was the “Rocky Shores” area which includes Polar bears, sea lions, seals and otters. The animals were very active and swimming a lot which was fun to watch.

Courtney was especially facinated

Why are polar bears so yellow?

For the first time ever I failed to get pictures of the Giraffes! They are my favorite animal at the zoo, and I’m sad I didn’t get any photos of them this time.

There were a couple new cats in the small animal area, and they were adorable! Courtney and Alexis wanted to stay there all day.

Once we were done with the small animal house the babies were pretty much done for the day. Kaylee, still wanted to stay, but we had to finish our trip early. Such is life with little ones!

I love this picture! Such a genuine smile….something we don’t catch on camera very much.

And, of course, the carousel! Even Courtney got to ride….on my back.
