Robert and I took the girls to the Zoo on Saturday, and I was SO thankful that I never tried to do it by myself. Kaylee loved it, but was frustrated at our “slow” pace while we were trying to show the babies everything. She was really disappointed that we couldn’t play all day at the playground there. It was too cold and too busy to let the babies play, and they were not happy just sitting around watching her play.

Alexis and her dad

I always love the Elephants. They are amazing to watch, and I always wish I could spend more time there. The little girls thought they were pretty cool, and Alexis was excited that she knew their sound. I had Courtney up on my back for a while, but she wanted down once we were in the buildings with the seals and otters.

Watching a rather bold rooster

The live Rinos were sleeping, so we played for a while on this one.

I love my beautiful girls!
Next up was the “Rocky Shores” area which includes Polar bears, sea lions, seals and otters. The animals were very active and swimming a lot which was fun to watch.

Courtney was especially facinated

Why are polar bears so yellow?

For the first time ever I failed to get pictures of the Giraffes! They are my favorite animal at the zoo, and I’m sad I didn’t get any photos of them this time.
There were a couple new cats in the small animal area, and they were adorable! Courtney and Alexis wanted to stay there all day.

Once we were done with the small animal house the babies were pretty much done for the day. Kaylee, still wanted to stay, but we had to finish our trip early. Such is life with little ones!

I love this picture! Such a genuine smile….something we don’t catch on camera very much.

And, of course, the carousel! Even Courtney got to ride….on my back.
