That's right! I am not just a whimp! I actually severely hurt the muscles in my thighs right above my knees. After two days I could still barely walk, and constantly was almost falling. On Sunday I spent the day laying on the Futon with baby care supplies all around me so that I could rest my legs. Robert went to church, while I stayed home with Kaylee. She had a fever and was having a very hard day so there was no way we wanted to attempt church with her.
Yesterday was much better though, but my right leg was still very unsteady. I had to be careful walking and especially going up and down stairs and sitting down and standing back up.
Finally today, I am feeling almost 100% better....but I am terrified to try the dvd again! I think I will give it a few more days and then just do it half strength next time.

Agility With Broken Legs
Just Kidding!
No, I didn't break my legs, but I sure did mess them up. The day after I took the agility videos I could no longer walk around the house let alone play agility with Hobbs. I severely strained the muscles above my knees doing a stupid work out video. It got to the point where I had to spend most of the day in bed with everything I needed to take care of Kaylee within arms reach. It was torture, but I wasn't steady enough on my feet to be safe carrying Kaylee around the house. I actually almost went to the doctor to see if I tore muscles.
Luckily on Monday morning I was feeling much better so I felt like I could at least go to Hobbs' agility class and see how it went.
Class was great! Hobbs got to try some regular weave poles and it didn't go too well. He finally did three poles, but it wasn't easy and he started to shut down and get frustrated. I guess he just needs some more practice on his. I am going to start gluing them next week though to get him used to poles that don't move.
We worked over jumps with wings to get the dogs to work further away from the handlers. Hobbs did great! The point was to run next to the dogs while they jumped, but running was out of the question for my legs. So I led out a whole bunch and then walked with him past one jump and sent him over the last one. I am SO thankful for a confident dog who knows his job!
The sequence this week was Jump, A-Frame (with a tunnel discrimination), jump, Tunnel (with an a-frame discrimination), Jump, Tire, Dog walk. This was the first time I have done any obstacle discrimination with Hobbs and I knew it would be tough for him to go through the tunnel rather than over the a-frame. This dog just loves his contacts too much!
After having to re start 4 times to get his a-frame contact, he chose the a-frame over the tunnel so we tried it again. This time I pulled him to me and at the last second sent him to the tunnel and it worked! After that part, I had to hustle to keep up with him over the jump, tire, and across the DW. All the pregnancy agility practice helped though because I just kind of stood in the center of the U the obstacles made. He did just what he was told and went over the jumps and continued down to the contact of the DW while I caught up to him. I was VERY proud of my boy for being so independent.
The second run through, we baited the bottom of the a-frame, and he did the tunnel on the first try. Again, I pulled him way off both obstacles and then sent him to the tunnel, but I wish I had had some more faith in him that he would read my body language.
The other three dogs did well too! All but one had a problem with the tunnel, but the second run, everyone got it!
Luckily I didn't re-injure myself doing agility, and next week Hobbs will have his handler back.

Holy Agility Practice!!
That's right! I actually have video proof that I am practicing with Hobbs! Lol, not once, but 4 times sense our class. He is loving it of course, and is improving every time.
The weave pole strategy is working very well, and I can almost put the poles completely upright now! I am considering gluing them now so they don't move as much, but I am going to wait for a couple weeks to get him consistently weaving them upright.

Oh, if you think I look like I am walking funny.....I am! This is why!

Premier Designs Jewelry Party + Girls Night = SANITY!!
Last night I went to a Premier Designs Jewelry party and afterward stayed for a mini girls night. It is great to get out of the house, but to get out of the house to try on jewelry and stay up late laughing and talking with girls is the best!
If you ever have the chance to go to a jewelry party, GO! It was really fun, and the jewelry was really great and versatile. I was not wearing the right shirt for trying on nice necklaces, but not much that fits me is right for that. I did find a necklace and earrings that I really liked so I bought them! Now I need to go get some clothes to go with them. I really hope I am not allergic to the earrings. I can't usually wear anything that isn't white gold....and that is no fun. Luckily these are returnable if I turn out to be allergic.
I couldn't find a picture of the stuff I bought, but I will post some once I get them and clothes to go with them.
Girls night was much shorter than normal :( We all went home around 10:30am rather than the normal 2-3am. We talked and laughed and finally scared ourselves by talking about scary movies (which we all can't handle) and haunted houses. I was very glad to get home to my wonderful husband and daughter where I knew I was safe. Stupid scary stuff!

For my birthday Robert got me the "30 day shred" DVD that is done by Jillian of "The Biggest Loser".

I had it for over 2 weeks before I even put it in the player, and another 3 days before I did the workout. That was yesterday. It was a pretty rough workout, but I didn't have to take more than two 10 second breaks the whole time. It is only 20 minutes long, and is a combination of Strength, Cardio, and Abs.....and it is TORTURE!!
After the workout yesterday afternoon, I couldn't walk very well. My leg muscles were like jello and kept giving out at random moments. That continued clear until I went to bed around midnight. Then I woke up this morning......I want to DIE! My thighs hurt so badly, and I can't really walk right. My pectoral muscles hurt as well from doing more push ups (whimpy girly ones) than I have in the last year put together. My legs hurt just sitting on the couch, and even my abs are a little sore.
I am usually a weird person who LOVES being sore after a good workout, hike, riding lesson, or whatever. It makes me feel like I did something good for my body, but this is ridiculous. I got stuck playing on the floor with Kaylee this morning because I couldn't stand up and hold her at the same time. I had to scoot over to the glider where I put her down then stood up....it was a little pathetic.
Now I don't know how I am supposed to do the workout again today! The DVD promises 20lbs of weight loss in 30 days if you do it every day. Something tells me that isn't going to happen. I think I may have to do it every other day until I get some muscles built up. Maybe I can do some Pilates on the off days.

Two Months and Two Years
Happy Blogoversary to me! I can't believe I have been posting on this blog for 2 years! If you go back to the beginning of my posts you may notice a discrepancy in the dates. That is from my genius move of deleting every post on my entire blog. The oldest ones were not able to be saved.....unfortunately. Hopefully nothing of the sort happens this year.

Kaylee turned 2 months old on Tuesday! To celebrate, we went to the doctor for her shots yesterday.....just kidding it was not a celebration. She weighed in at 10 lbs 15.5 oz and measured 22 3/8". That puts her in the 50th% for both. She is only in the 10th% for her head circumference though lol. She has a tiny head! While she was being examined by the doctor, she almost rolled over for the first time. She actually rolled onto her side (from her front) and then got too frustrated, so we picked her up. I really thing she could have rolled over had it not been for the slick paper on the table. She couldn't get any traction with her foot so she couldn't roll all the way over. The doctor was really impressed with how well she is doing.
She is getting some real hair! It is growing in right on top of her head where a lot fell out due to the cradle cap. It looks like it is going to be dark, at least for now! I am really excited about that!
Her shots were a bit heartbreaking. She handled the first one ok; she cried really hard and then calmed back down just in time to be stuck the second time. Then she lost it and started screaming and turned red and started crying tears with the third stick. It didn't continue for very long though, maybe a minute. As soon as the shot lady walked out of the room she stopped crying. I sat and held her for a few minutes before I put her in her car seat to go home. She fussed and cried on the way home, but no out and out crying. I think she was in a little bit of shock.
When we got home, I discovered that I never bought infant Tylonal!! I thought about it and never did! So I had to run to the store with the poor girl for the pain killer. Once she had that in her system she went right to sleep, and slept basically all day. I was worried about her, so I had her sleep on our bed and laid next to her and slept basically all day as well! It was great! The worst was when the first dose of Tylonal wore off and the next dose hadn't kicked in yet. Every time she moved her legs she would scream and cry. After that one wore off she was still in pain, but not screaming. It was a rough day for both of us. One thing that I did appreciate, is that it helped her catch up on sleep! She was getting into the super over tired stage, so it was nice to have something helping her catch up.
Some other "fun" things have been happening....my milk was trying to dry up! We have been figuring out that Kaylee is sensitive to dairy in my diet. That means I can not eat ANYTHING!! When you really look at it, so many things have dairy in them. So I wasn't eating enough calories to satisfy my body....let alone nurse a baby. On Tuesday I started to notice that it was taking Kaylee a LONG time to eat....like 30-40 rather than her normal 10-15. Then in the evening, she would want to eat all the time, but would scream through every feeding. On Wednesday I could physically feel that I didn't have much milk, and I couldn't for the life of me pump more than 1 oz at a time! The most I pumped was 3 oz and that was instead of feeding Kaylee. Before I could pump 5-6 oz and then feed Kaylee with no problems. Luckly that day we had milk in a bottle that I had pumped before my supply went down. At one point Kaylee ate almost 4 oz AFTER eating from me! Poor little girl was just starving! She was much happier Wednesday evening, which proved that she wasn't getting enough food in the evenings before. I was realieved that the doctor was so impressed by her weight gain. Hopefully she will continue to gain like she has been.
So I started chowing down everything I could get my hands on that didn't have milk in them. I ate almost a whole loaf of wheat bread plain, and ate a ton of fast food. Suprisingly those things don't usually have dairy in them. I had a Chipotle burrito, which are known to have over 2000 calories in them! I also started pumping for 5-10 minutes after every feeding....even in the middle of the night. One thing I have been slacking on is taking my prenadal, so I started doing that again. Oh, and drinking tons of water! I usually do pretty good with the water, so that was the easiest part.
As of today, I feel like I am getting my supply back! I am planning to take some brewers yeast, which is supposed to help up the milk supply. I went grocery shopping last night and got some rice and soy milk, and some rice ice cream.....it should be interesting. All I can say is that I would HATE to be lactose intolerant! How do those people survive?!?
I have more picture in the camera, but both batteries are dead so I can't get them off onto the computer. But here are some of the ones I took on Tuesday:

Intermediate Agility Class #1
Class last night was so much fun!! I didn't take any pictures because I rushed out the door without my camera.
There are 3 other dogs in class besides Hobbs. The dogs and owners names are (for my memory's sake) Kathy and Ginger Snap, Judy and Ginger, and Debbie and Sadie. We are all about the same place in training, so we are all able to progress together.
The instructor asked me to bring my weave poles so that she could see where he was with weaving. That was the first thing we worked on. She watched me send him through them a couple times, and he was WAY too excited and basically tore the weaves apart. So I ran him around for a little while, and had him retrieve his bait bag a few times. Then I sent him again and he controlled himself more and actually wove through them. Then she asked me if I could recall him to me through the poles. I have never even thought of doing that so I tried it. I had him on a sit/wait and called him to me. He, of course, ran right past the poles and looked really proud of himself. Then I realized that I had called him with "come" rather than just releasing him and then telling him to weave. I tried it again and he again ran past them. The instructor had me take off two of the poles and then he did it!! I was really happy with him, so I did it a couple more times and ended on a great note. That is my homework for this week, and I am supposed to try to be able to call him through all 6 of them.
Then we moved over to the Dog Walk which was set at full height. Some of you will remember our disaster of a DW experience during our first class, and the memory of that made me nervous to send him over the full height one. I just buried my feelings though and trusted that Hobbs knew how to do it safety. I had to trust that I had done enough work after the fall, to prepare him for this. So I sent him and ran with him to the other side. The whole time I fully expected to hear him fall off.....but he didn't!! He even stopped at the bottom and offered his 2o2o!
Next was the A-Frame, which wasn't full height but almost. Hobbs flew over it, and then couldn't stop in time to do his contact. I send him over again and this time he nailed it. It is great to see that he is starting to really understand what his job is.
Then we did a sequence of DW, 3 jumps, tunnel, and A-Frame. It had two front crosses and for the first time, the dogs saw a tunnel UNDER the A-frame. The tunnel entrance was blind and ever dog missed it the first time through. We all overestimated our dogs abilities to find the entrance. I had a little bit of a hard time handling Hobbs because he was SO fast! Part of that was that the jumps were only at 12" instead of 16.....what a difference that makes! The second run through everyone did much better as did Hobbs. He missed his A-frame contact multiple times on both run- throughs. I am considering trying a running contact with him because it seems to be hard for him to slow his momentum enough for the 2o2o.
I can't wait for next week! It is so good to be doing agility again!

State Fair
Yesterday Robert, Kaylee, and I went to the Utah state fair for the afternoon. We met my parents and my little sister there, and it was great to see them again.
I had been fighting all week to get Kaylee to sleep more. She was chronically over tired which was making life pretty miserable for her and me. Basically the only time she was happy was when she was eating. She couldn't nap because she was tired, so she would wake early which would make her more tired. I actually sat in her room and observed one of her naps and she tossed and turned the WHOLE 45 minutes she was "asleep". While she was awake she was yawning, fussing, and screaming most of the time. It was tough to deal with. Finally by Friday I had gotten enough sleep in her that she started to be happier and sleep better. I was terrified that going to the fair was going to ruin all my hard work and put us back into the over tired cycle.
Saturday morning I let her sleep as much as she wanted....which wasn't very much unfortunately. Then we loaded up all the stuff we would need at the fair and headed out. Kaylee was not happy about her car seat even though I sat in the back seat with her.
Once we got there we got to walk around the fair for a while holding Kaylee because she didn't want to be in her stroller or the carrier we bought the day before.

A look at the chaos that is the state fair
Finally she fell asleep in the carrier on Robert and slept for about 45 minutes.

Unfortunately, I forgot her sun hat so she had to have a blanket over her head the whole day.

She is so adorable!
It was SOOOO hot that day! I swear it was like I was pregnant again. I was pouring sweat, and even being in the buildings was too hot. The worst was when I decided to feed Kaylee in one of the buildings. I was literally DRIPPING sweat! My body just couldn't cool down.
I was so worried about how Kaylee was doing that I couldn't really enjoy myself that much. After we walked through the buildings and all the crowds we went to find a quiet place to eat. I wanted to give Kaylee a chance to cool off and sleep if at all possible. Once we found the quiet, shady patch of grass, we laid down a blanket and Kaylee got to hang out while we took shifts going to get our food. That let me relax a lot more knowing that she wasn't getting overstimulated or overheated.
The food at a fair is the best part! My favorite is the Funnel Cakes though. If you haven't ever had one, you have to. I also had Alligator on a stick, which was actually really good! We all sat and laughed and talked, and Robert and I got a few minutes alone to walk around the fair. After we ate though, we didn't want to go on any rides.
I didn't take as many good pictures as I could have. It was just kind of difficult to get the camera out every time I wanted to take a picture. We had it attached to the stroller so that no one could take it.

Auntie Kathryn and Kaylee

This was at the end of the day as we left the park and Kaylee was zonked out.

....with my parents

Last night when we got home, we quickly bathed Kaylee to relax her after the long day. Then she went to sleep and slept for 6.5 hours, ate and slept another 4 before getting up this morning.
So far today she is napping wonderfully, and doesn't seem too worse for going on such a big outting. It is encoraging that she handled it so well.

Our little family
....with my parents

Last night when we got home, we quickly bathed Kaylee to relax her after the long day. Then she went to sleep and slept for 6.5 hours, ate and slept another 4 before getting up this morning.
So far today she is napping wonderfully, and doesn't seem too worse for going on such a big outting. It is encoraging that she handled it so well.

How has it been this long?!?
I have been really bad about taking pictures of Kaylee this week. We have been having more nap problems, so I have not had much time online. On Wednesday, she turned 8 weeks old! And on Tuesday she is officially 2 months old! I can't believe how quickly these two months have gone by!
Kaylee is so big! I only notice when someone else is holding her and she looks giant. I forgot to weigh her on Wednesday, but today she weighed in at 10.8 lbs including diaper and clothes. Here she is today

her head looks so weird in this one!

On my side of it, I lost a couple more pounds.....but I have to admit I haven't tried too terribly hard. I walk some days, but have had the "30 day shred" DVD in the DVD player for a week now and haven't done it once. Hopefully Kaylee will have a few good napping days this week so I can try it out. For best results, I am supposed to do it every day for 30 days.....yeah right!

Here is the current version!

On the cloth diaper front, Kaylee is wearing them while she is awake most days now. She still isn't sleeping in them because they elevate her bum and it seems to make it hard for her to sleep. I LOVE washing them though! I am surprised how much fun they are to hang on the line, and stuff/fold after they are dry. I can't wait until she is in them all the time.

Sooo excited!!
I can't believe how excited I am for this agility class to start! Not only am I working with Hobbs out on our equipment at least once a day, I am dreaming about running agility!
Last night I dreamed that Hobbs and I were competing, and I was freaking out because there were 5 sets of 12 weave poles in the course! Hobbs doesn't do the weaves upright yet, so I was frantically trying to figure out how to get him to weave so we wouldn't embarrass ourselves. Lol, silly dreams!
Hobbs is doing really great with the extra agility practice, but is still dying to get a decent walk on a consistent basis. He hardly ever gets uncomfortable around Kaylee anymore now! I even sat her on his back and he just stood there. I thought he would freak out, but he just kept an eye on her just in case she turned into a scary monster lol.
For the past few days, I have had this nagging feeling that Patriot isn't walking right. I can't see a distinct limp, but it just seems like something isn't right in his gait. He hasn't been able to keep up with Hobbs and I as well on walks the last couple times, and today it almost seemed like he would have rather stayed home. He is on some new supplements for his joint, but I think I am going to go back to the old ones and see if it help. I have noticed this sense the last time we were at the dog park and I wonder if he pulled something. Hopefully that is what happened, rather than this being the start of joint trouble.

7 Weeks!
Kaylee is getting so big! We weighed her on Sunday before her blessing and she was exactly 10 lbs. Now, just three days later she is 10.2 lbs!
We got her an actual prescription of her medicine, and she is having less and less reflux flare ups. Along with that comes better naps, which means a happier mommy! Nights are pretty predictable with usually a 6-7 hour stretch followed b 4-5 hours. On Sunday night she slept 10 hours straight, but I think that was due to all the stress of the blessing.
She is smiling all the time now, and loves to be talked to and especially asked questions.
Kaylee is such a cute little darling! She loves hanging out in her play gym, but it overwhelms her quickly so I don't leave her in there for long.

I got a Bumbo seat for her this week! I hadn't even hear of them until my friend Sandy asked if I had one.

I think she is still a bit too small for it.
A couple days ago, when I got Kaylee up from one of her naps, she started to stretch on the changing table, and fell back asleep like that!

I couldn't get this one to upload horizontal for the life of me, so just use your imaginations.

Blessing
We blessed Kaylee yesterday, and had lots of family and friends over for the occasion. I was planning to have Kaylee wear the blessing dress I wore, but she didn't fit into it so we bought another one. My dad gave her the blessing, and it was beautiful! We recorded it right along with the heartbeat from my first prenatal doctor's appointment. She was an angel during church and slept through most of the blessing. It was so weird to be the mom of the baby being blessed....I don't know why, but it was. Kaylee was having some reflux issues on Saturday and Sunday morning, but luckily it went away in time for church.
Our happy family:

Kaylee's shoes didn't fit at all and one fell off during church and we forgot to put it back on for the pictures.

She was beyond exhausted after just one hour of church.
When we got Kaylee all dressed up, it almost made me cry because she looked so adorable!

I love my little angel!

Kaylee and her great grandmother

My little sister, her husband, and Kaylee (who was finally getting some sleep)
It was pretty stressful for me to watch her being passed around to different people when I knew she was so tired and just wanted to go to sleep. I was glad when she was finally able to go to sleep despite the noise. It was great to have all our family there supporting Robert and me. Thanks everyone!
My best friend Sandy came all the way from Colorado to visit! I haven't seen her sense Robert and I got married and have missed her a lot. We had a blast talking and laughing and reminiscing about our college days when we were room mates. She got here on Friday night and stayed until Monday morning. Robert was home with us and took care of Kaylee a lot so we could just relax and visit. His friend Clint came over on Saturday, and ended up staying until Monday morning. I was glad he had someone to hang out with so I didn't feel like I was neglecting him. All of us stayed up til all hours of the mornings playing "Quiddler" and watching movies. It was a wonderful, stressful, exhausting weekend!

Baby Evelyn
My sister Jenetta had her baby girl yesterday! She was not due until the 30th so little Evelyn is quite early. Jenetta was developing some preeclampsia so her doctor chose to induce her. Jenetta was actually in mild labor so they didn't have to do much. Evelyn made her grand entrance into the world at 12:47 AM weighing 5 lbs 11 oz and measuring 19.25" long. She is very healthy, and was more than ready to come into the world. She, my sister, and brother-in-law are doing great despite being tired. I am so happy for my sister, the new mommy!

First day home

I was planning to go up with my mom when Jenetta went into labor, but it clashed with our scheduled baby blessing this Sunday. So my mom went up, and I will be going when they bless Evelyn. I can't wait to meet her!
