Tonight's class went pretty well.....really quickly too.
First off, it was so HOT!! I don't know if it was just me, but it was almost unbearable. Hobbs was panting from the heat almost immediately upon getting out of the car. I had forgotten his water dish, so we borrowed water from another person. There were a couple of stations tonight, and a bunch of equipment that we could play around on by ourselves.
Hobbs and I started with the teeter at its highest point yet! He did great except for one time that he basically got bounced off so he didn't stick the contact. Other than that, he did very well with all the movement of the teeter.
Next we worked on our own with the chute, tunnel, and table. Hobbs did great the first two times I sent him to the table......and then the bouncing started. He would run to it, jump on and immediately jump right off, and jump on again.....and sometimes off again after that! He would eventually end up laying down on the table, but not right away. I don't know what he thinks he is doing, but he gets more excited every time he jumps on and off. I tried telling him down as soon as he jumps on, but it didn't seem to help. I am not sure what to do with him if it continues. He was great doing both the chute and tunnel.
Then we went over to do three jumps on a curve. He did it perfectly, and was complimented by the instructor on being a natural. I was impressed that he was jumping despite being really hot.
The last thing we did was a sequence of 3 jumps, tunnel, table, & chute. Both times we ran Hobbs bounced on and off the table. I think I may need to make one to practice with at home. Other than that he did fabulously on the sequence.
This week's class was SO hard for me! I was trying my best to be excited and encouraging to Hobbs, but I just had no energy for myself let alone him. Pregnancy, summer, and agility don't mix very easily lol!

Full Term!
Today little Kaylee is considered "Full Term". Today is also the first day of the last 3 weeks of this pregnancy. THREE WEEKS!!! I can't believe I only have three weeks left....well probably 3 weeks and a few days depending on how long after the due date Kaylee makes her appearance. I am already planning to be past my due date, so if she comes early or on time great! And if not, I will have already prepared for it.
I have been pretty sore and tired this week, but the last few days I have been sleeping really well! I slept for a whole 10 1/2 hours (minus 5-6 bathroom breaks) the other night. I went to sleep on the couch just after 8 and woke up in the morning at 6:30! It was wonderful, and I took a nap that day! I have been trying my hardest to eat healthy, but the pounds keep coming. I just keep reminding myself that I can start losing it in just over 3 weeks. That is one of the most exciting parts of having Kaylee....I can finally watch the scale go back the other way.
The doctor's appointments are a week apart now, and I have had two sense last Tuesday......so not a full week apart, but close. I am dilated to 1cm, but that is about it. Kaylee is a few ounces over 6 lbs and I am hoping her growth slows down until delivery. I really don't want a huge baby lol! I can't wait to meet her and be her mommy! Anyways, here are the stats for this week:

Hiking with the boys
Patriot, Hobbs, and took a road trip down to Salt Lake City today to get some heartguard. Originally I was just going to take Patriot because he needed to be tested for heartworms before I could get the medicine. But I just couldn't leave Hobbs here by himself so we made a trip out of it. We went to the big dog park that has a smallish river running through it. We used to go there once a week or so until we move to Ogden. Now it is just too far away to go very often.
It was SO fun to be there again, and the boys both had a ton of fun. It was really hot, and I probably over did it a little with the heat, but I am taking it easy the rest of the day. Here are the pictures and videos from the hike.

If you look close at this picture you can see the dog right above Hobbs on the log! This guy walked up there, and had his dogs follow him. But Hobbs wanted SO badly to follow them. It about gave me a heart attack!

After the hike, I had a couple errands to run while they dried off, and relaxed in the car (I left it on the whole time). Then we headed over to the Humane Society for Patriot's blood test. Everyone was super impressed that both my dogs walked in, and flopped down on the floor without a second glance at the 5-6 dogs in the waiting room.
It turned out that they send me the notice to get him tested again by accident! I was dreading having to pay $22 yet again for a test that I KNOW will come up negative. They were very nice about just confirming that he had been taking heartguard sense his last test, and then let me buy the medicine. Yay!! I don't have to pay for a heartworm test for another year!

I finally found the baby memory book I have been imagining! I bought one online several months ago, and it just wasn't what I was looking for. I was at Deseret Book last month some time and saw exactly what I wanted! Then today I finally got around to buying it.
It is a 3-ring binder that I can add photo pages to if I need to.....ok, when I need to!
I am going to refrain writing date sensitive things in it until she comes just in case she isn't really a she.

Another week of agility
Last night was a great agility class. Their were 4 stations and they had 2 dogs on each at a time.
We started on the tunnel to table station. The first time I sent Hobbs it was perfect! I lead out half way down the tunnel, gave him the ok, stopped at the end of the tunnel, and sent him ahead the 5+ feet to the table. He did it all wonderfully, and started to down even before I told him to. The next time I sent him though, he hopped on and then immediately off the table. He turned right back around and hopped back on, but it wasn't like he couldn't' stop in time to stay on the table.....he just chose not to. After he did that twice, I had the instructor "bait" the table with a treat. He of course stopped that time no problem, and stopped again the next time with no bait.
The next station for us was the weave poles. Ugh. when we first got to class, before it started, I sent Hobbs at the line of 4 upright poles and he did them! But after that he didn't want to do them again. That included the 10 or so minutes we were at the station. None of the instructors were over seeing this station so I chose to do some shadow handling and take a break in the shade rather than get myself frustrated on the weaves.
Next we went to the 4 jump station, where we were either practicing lead-outs or sending with the "go" command. Our group was two big dogs and one little dog.....not the smartest when you have jumps to adjust. The instructor set the distance at just barely 5' and the bars at 8" and 12". When Hobbs' turn came around, I lead out and released him.....and he crashed right through 3 or the 4 bars! He just didn't even try to collect himself, so his striding was off. He is a quick learner though, because the next time, he was VERY careful and thought about what he was doing therefore leaving up all the bars! On out last turn, I stayed at the start line and sent him over, which he did happily, and then came back to me over the grid....again leaving all the bars up.
The last station was the A-frame. Hobbs was doing fabulously! He was racing over, and stopping at the bottom all by himself. I wanted to try stopping at the apex to see if he would continue on his own to the bottom.....but he stopped with me. So I am going to do some more work with our board getting him to go all the way over to the 2o2o.
At the end of class they set up a sequence. It was basically a semi circle of A-frame, Jump, Tunnel, Table. Hobbs' first run was better than the second just because the second time I had them bait the bottom of the frame so I wouldn't have to stop to treat him. Well, he drove right into position, and then sat their looking to me for his reward. I had to finally show him where the treat was and then we continued on with our run. Both times he did the table wonderfully without bouncing off. I thought for a second on one run he was going to hop off, but he stayed on and layed down.
We have two more classes left of this session, but I am not allowed to sign up for the next one. Why is that? Because I would be delivering a baby two or so weeks into class! Then after that I will have to wait 6 weeks to do any real exercise....or so the doctor says. I talked to one of the instructors and she said that I am welcome to come with her to a barn that she practices in during the winter! Also I am going to actually join the obedience club so I can come to some of their indoor practices during the winter.
I am so happy with my little Hobbs dog! He is such a wonderful boy, and always tries his hardest to do what he thinks I want.
On another note, Patriot's new serum is working great after just one shot! The instructions say to cut the first shot of a new vial in half. So instead of a whole ml he got 1/2ml and hasn't itched sense! It has been a whole 24 hours now! I am going to see if I can wait 5-6 days before I give him the next shot. But I have decided that if he needs to have a shot every 4 days for the rest of his life I will deal with it. That will cost us about $160 every 40 days......wow.

Week 36
Well this is the start of the last month of this pregnancy! I can't believe it, and the due date is so close! As of right now, I am having some Braxton Hicks contractions just about every 3 or so minutes. They don't hurt, and at first I thought it was Kaylee moving.....but realized that the "movements" were coming in a pattern. Very interesting and exciting!
I have another doctor's appointment tomorrow, and another one on Monday! I think after that they will be every week until she gets here.

The Zoo and The Wedding
Ok, I am horrible, and took a bunch of pictures of the trip to the zoo on Saturday, but only took 3 pictures of the dinner AFTER the wedding that same day!! So I will try to add some more pictures of the wedding some other time.
Saturday was a LONG day for me. I got up early, took care of the dogs, and then drove the 45 minutes to the Hogle Zoo. It was a windy, blustery, wet morning but luckily when I got there it wasn't raining. I met up with a few moms and we walked around together. I haven't been to the zoo sense Robert and I went for our first anniversary. It was pretty much like I remembered, but better because it was summer.
The only new thing was the Madagascar exhibit with this little guy:
He is a Fossa
The black bear (who was busy scratching against everything
Zebras
Penguins
And one of my favorite animals:
This little guy was a month or two old baby last time I was here!
Then there were the big cats
The Cheeta
and Tiger
Just as we got to the big cats, it started to POUR rain! We sat around for a while eating lunch (under a pavillion) and then went our separate ways. Oh, we stopped in at the snake house for a little while, and holy cow did that STINK!!
From the zoo I drove down to the wedding luncheon and had wonderfull duch oven food! It was SO good! Joe, Robert's friend was the one getting married, and he and his bride looked so happy. All of us friends sat at a table and laughed and talked until they started cleaning up around us. It was really fun....I only felt a little out of place in my jeans when everyone else was formal.
After the luncheon, Robert and I were going to go back home to feed the dogs and for me to change. Well Robert ended up needing to be back at the wedding sooner than he thought. So I drove up and back with about 30 minutes of down time at the house.
The reception was spent decorating/trashing the grooms car. It was really great for a while, but a few people took it too far and put whipped cream filled balloons inside the car, and glitter in the vents. I felt sorry for them. Every time I go to a wedding and/or reception I am SO glad that I am married, and never have to plan anything like that again! It was a beautiful reception, and they looked so happy together. I don't know her very well, so hopefully we will get to know her better now that they are married.
After the reception a bunch of us went out for a really late dinner at Red Robin. I was super tired by this point, but it was still fun.

New Nylabone!
Last week I found a NEW style of Nylabone at the pet store! I still tend to stick with many of the "approved" toys recommended by GDB. This is because the boys destroy other toys too quickly for them to be worth the money. I have to admit though, that the same Nylabone styles all the time get really old. We have more than one of almost every kind there is, so I was very excited to find this at the store:

So far, it has become one of the favorites. I will need to buy another one soon because they both want to play with it so often.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!
I have the best dad in the whole world, and just wanted to wish him a happy father's day. Thank you for being there for me through my whole life, and supporting me and the family. I am so happy you have gotten a great job just in time to be able to enjoy this day. I love you!
And Robert, happy pre-father's day! Kaylee I am sure is happy she has such a fun dad already! I can't wait for this day next year. Then it will officially apply to you too!

Videos
Well, I got out the camera and......Hobbs still weaved!! Lol, I should have more faith in him than I do. Two of these are kind of long, but I don't know how to edit video so this is what you get!
This is the sequence from the post a few days ago. Then, at the end I tried to do it backwards.....it didn't work too well.
So we practiced it a couple more times. I don't think this was the best way to handle the weaves to the first jump, but I couldn't think of any other way to do it. Any suggestions?
I set up some serpentines, but am not sure I did it right. Then I couldn't remember which side I had set it up for, so we did it on both sides. I also sent him over them with his "go" command....but I think I forgot to say go!

Patriot's medicine just came into the vet today, so Robert is going to pick it up. It came just in time too! I just gave him the very last of his old vial of serum.
I am crossing all my fingers, and toes that having this "more"potent" vial will allow me to stretch the time between shots to at least a week. If not, we may be doing shots every 4 days for the rest of his life.....which I will do, but he wont appreciate.

It is SO close!
Yep, it is week 35! Only 5 to go!!
This last week was pretty uncomfortable, and painful for me. Now that Kaylee has officially turned head-down, I am in a lot more pain than I was before. Sometimes it is shooting pain so bad it stops me in my tracks and makes my eyes water. The pain is just from her head resting on and stretching out muscles, ligaments, and tendons that were left alone until now. I am very glad she is head down though, and with all the walking I do (which sometimes causes braxton hicks now) I am hoping I will at least not go over my due date.
At our doctor's appointment Kaylee weighed in at 5 lbs! I am hoping she doesn't gain the 1/2-1 lb per week some books say they gain from here on. That would make her at the least 7.5 lbs by delivery! That isn't too bad, but I was hoping for a little baby like I was.....under 7 lbs. Her head isn't big though which is good.
I am starting to get worried about delivery being so close. I know it has to happen for her to get here, but I would rather just skip it. Lol, I don't think that is an option though.
My foot is feeling much better this week, and my doctor said it is probably just a bone bruise. Sense my feet are spreading out bone bruises are easier to get, and take weeks to heal.....especially when I refuse to rest.

I am very glad she is head down though, and with all the walking I do (which sometimes causes braxton hicks now) I am hoping I will at least not go over my due date.
At our doctor's appointment Kaylee weighed in at 5 lbs! I am hoping she doesn't gain the 1/2-1 lb per week some books say they gain from here on. That would make her at the least 7.5 lbs by delivery! That isn't too bad, but I was hoping for a little baby like I was.....under 7 lbs. Her head isn't big though which is good.
I am starting to get worried about delivery being so close. I know it has to happen for her to get here, but I would rather just skip it. Lol, I don't think that is an option though.
My foot is feeling much better this week, and my doctor said it is probably just a bone bruise. Sense my feet are spreading out bone bruises are easier to get, and take weeks to heal.....especially when I refuse to rest.

- Waist: 44....how I lost 3/4 of an inch is beyond me!I definitely feel bigger!

- Sleeping Schedule: Go to Bed @ 9:00-11:30pm and wake up @ 6:30-7:30am
- Exercise Schedule: 60 minute walk with the dogs 3-4 days, Exercise ball 3 days
Hiccups!
As promised, here is a video of baby movement in my belly! The greatest thing is that this is the first time I am absolutely sure Kaylee has the hiccups. Once before I thought she may have them, but this time it was for sure. The poor thing had them for almost a half an hour!
I was trying not to breathe too much during the video, but it didn't work. I have another video of the hiccups, but for most of it you can't tell. I need to figure out how to edit videos.

Random Updates**Edited**
First off, Patriot is doing about the same. Maybe a little bit better, but we only have until next Tuesday before we are out of serum. I dread what will happen if we don't get the new stuff by then. Other than that, he is doing wonderfully! He sleeps a lot more than usual thanks to the benadryl, but is his usual happy self when he is awake....with a little itching.
Hobbs is great, but has had a hard time with the constant rain we have had for almost two weeks. Walks are few and far between so he gets antsy. I brought the weave poles inside to give him something to do, and it helps a lot. Speaking of weaves, he is doing pretty well. I think I just went too long without consistently working on them. Now he is back to happily driving through them at about 3" off center.

They are really only like 1/2" different than the fixed poles at class

He is a "hard hitter". I had just pounded these all together with a mallet, and he still moved them!
This is the sequence we have been practicing. Enlarge the picture to see the numbers I added to mark the course. I start out with him on my right, and front cross between 2 and 3. I am afraid to video it because every time the camera comes out, the ability to weave falls out of Hobbs' head. Maybe in a few days I will risk it.
As long as the rain stays away this week we are going to go around to different parks/fields to practice weaving. I am not going to worry about his performances at class. I know he can weave, and I don't need to change my method!
One thing I have noticed this week is the difference in the dogs reactions to the baby's room. Hobbs seems a little nervous in their because every time we have been in there Robert and I have been un-packaging things, and/or building furniture. Lol, Hobbs sees this as "Moving" and it stresses him out. Patriot on the other hand LOVES the room! He will go in, and fall asleep on the floor. I have a feeling he is going to want to sleep in there once he meets Kaylee.
For now, I have them come in with me every time I am in there, and they have to lay down. This week I am going to start teaching them a command for when I need them both to get out of that room. I was going to use "out" or "get out" but that is an agility command for Hobbs. Any suggestions on words I can use?
We were gifted another couch from Robert's parents, and the boys already loved it from being at their house. So we decided this could be another couch they are allowed to be on. I think if we slept with the door to our room open Patriot would opt to sleep on the couch some nights.
Is anyone else's dog(s) shedding? I have never had a dog shed in the middle of the summer. I am not talking about the normal shedding. This is almost as bad a winter/spring shedding!! It is mostly Patriot, but Hobbs is starting to too!
