I randomly found out about a consignment sale that was going on in Eugene at the beginning of the month and I was intrigued. I have never been to a consignment sale and didn't even really know what they were all about. So I signed up as one of the first time parents who got to go to a pre-sale before it opened to the general public.
It seemed to me like a lot of stuff, but I don't know anything about consignment sales so I don't know comparatively how large it was. The prices were about what you would find at Kid 2 Kid, or another second hand store, but some things were really great deals. I could have spent an entire paycheck there.....probably on mostly clothes. There were just so many cute ones that I wanted for Kaylee.
The line at the end was crazy long, but luckily, I was one of the last in line, and I had brought a book so it didn't seem like it took too long.
My spoils:
the clothing
Shoes, and a baby doll
This was my favorite find. They are book ends with Winne the Pooh books to read that sit in either end.
Here is a little plug for my Rockin Green laundry detergent. I soaked all the clothes overnight in RnG detergent, and this was the water afterwards:
I NEVER let Kaylee wear any clothes now without my soaking them first. Even if I buy them new from the store. They water is always gross after a soak!
The toys I got:
Kaylee was SO impressed with the little doorway thing!
This purchase taught me a few things. It came with about 25 little blocks, but I think some of the parts are missing, and some of it doesn't work properly. Next time I go to a consignment sale (when I save enough money to REALLY have fun) I will be more careful about inspecting things. It was really great to go to my first consignment though.
