More Pictures

I had yet another ultrasound yesterday!! And we got a TON of pictures. The ultrasound tech was really nice and funny. She said that FOR SURE it is a girl, and gave us several pictures saying just that lol.

Anyways, enjoy the pictures!

Little Sister!

They boys are going to have another little sister! We found out today that we are having another girl in September! Yay!

We also have some other great news that I will share hopefully in a week or two.

Those tests are CRAP!!!

Well, apparently, 9 out of the 10 tests were wrong because we are having a............................

GIRL!!!

Another profile, as she was turning away from the camera

I am excited to be having another girl! Yes, I was kind of hoping for a boy but Kaylee is going to love having a little sister so close in age with her. Funny enough the thing that is disappointing about NOT having a boy this time is that the next baby doesn't get to be a surprise :(

Here is the "proof":

Robert and I don't have a name picked out. The only other name we liked before we had Kaylee was Cadence, and I am not sure that I really like that anymore.

150 Days!

That is how many days we have left on our due date countdown. I am scared that it is going by so quickly. I worry that I won't be ready to be a mom of TWO by then. But more than anything, I am excited!!

2 more down

Here we are for another pregnancy update! This one is not going to be as fun a next week, but still I am a whole 18 weeks pregnant! Only 22 more to go! This week I have actually gotten excited about being pregnant. The little tiny bits of movement are getting more obvious, and the prospect of finding out the gender soon makes it seem more real.

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 18 weeks - I am going to add these tidbits from The Bump.com every week. Enjoy!

Your fetus has become amazingly mobile (at least compared to you), passing the hours yawning, hiccuping, rolling, twisting, kicking, punching, sucking and swallowing. And, baby's finally big enough that you'll be able to feel those movements soon.

Size of baby: Roughly 5 1/2 inches long, Crown to rump
Weight: 186.4
Total Weight Gain/Loss: -.8 lbs - Still losing weight! Yay!
Maternity Clothes: 3 pairs of maternity pants (yay for new pants!!), and 1 pair of my regular pants fit.....with the button undone.
Gender: Unknown (only for 1 more week!)
Movement: I am pretty sure now that I am feeling this little one jump around every so often. But it isn't more than once every few days.
Sleep: Better, but having crazy stressful dreams (that are NOT pregnancy related, but are for another story)
Exercise: I have been trying to get back to walking on the treadmill regularly....since mother nature doesn't seem to realize it is APRIL. I am going to be adding a strength training regiment this week. So my arms are ready for constant baby holding in September.
Symptoms: Still rare that any food sounds good.
Throw up tally: 3
What I miss: FOOD!! I miss wanting to eat!
Cravings: Still nothing...Though Robert says I have been eating a lot of eggs
Aversions: Sweet stuff! Ugh, all the easter candy in the stores usually makes me drool, but now it makes me nauseous. Sad to be missing my favorite candy of the year.
Best Moment this week: This week in general was pretty crappy for me, but pregnancy-wise it was pretty good.
Looking Forward To: Our Gender ultrasound!!! We get to "hopefully" find out what this little one is next Friday. Another thing I am looking forward to is choosing a name so I can buy and paint his/her name for the nursery wall.

Week 18 -I feel like my belly is getting bigger, but I am losing weight everywhere else.

Boy vs Girl

There are a TON of old wives tales and tests that supposedly can tell you what gender your baby is going to be. I thought it would be fun to do a post about a bunch of them and see which one (s) are right. I didn't do this with Kaylee and wish I had so I would have some results to compare to. With her I only did one.

So, lets start with a similar one!

Rip open the simple *yet very expensive test as soon as you receive it, only to remember that you have to wait until morning to take it.

Do the simple 1-2-3-4 steps detailed in the instructions then twiddle my thumbs while I wait the allotted 5 minutes until the test is "accurate".

Compare with last time:

Left: This test - Right: Previous test....which ended up being a girl
Intelligender Results: BOY

Cravings
If you are craving sweets its a girl and salty/sour stuff its a boy.
Results: BOY

Baking Soda
The specifics? Put 1 tsp of baking soda in a cup or glass. Pee in another cup then pour 1/4 (roughly) of a cup of pee on to the baking soda. If it fizzes its a boy and if it does nothing it is a girl.
red cup to hide the human excrement.....so I don't offend anyone.
Baking Soda results: BOY

Heart Rate
Heart rate of 140 bpm or above its a girl, and below 140 bpm its a boy.
Heart Rate results: BOY

The Draino
This time mix the pee with regular Draino and see what happens. I have heard it a couple different ways but the general consensus is that if it turns brown and has a big bubbly reaction it is a boy, and if it stays the same green/blue and only fizzes/bubbles a little it is a girl. The actual instructions are here and the discrediting information is here.

Results for the draino results: BOY

Chinese Calender Prediction
Some people swear by this test, and others have said it was wrong every time. Many people who swear by it say it only works if you calculate your chinese "lunar" age and use that on the chart. I can't get the age calculator link to work so here is the chart. Chinese age: 27 Month of Conception: December.
Chinese Calender results: BOY

Odds and Evens
This is how the Mayans predicted genders. Look at the mother's age at conception and the year of conception. If both are odds or evens its a girl, and if one is odd and the other one is even its a boy.
Odds and Evens results: GIRL

Wedding Ring
Tie your wedding ring to a string and dangle it over your belly. If it swings back and forth its a girl and if it swings in a circle its a boy. I tried this one 4 times because I was so suspicious of it.
Wedding Ring results: BOY

Hairline
This is one I heard about a while ago. Here are the specifics (sorry you have to wade through some other prediction methods). Basically, you look at the hairline of the sibling immediately older than the expected baby. If their hairline (on the back of their neck) makes a V or comes to a point in the middle the next baby will be the opposite gender. If their hairline goes straight across the next baby will be the same gender. This method is true for all of my and Robert's siblings.
Hairline Result: BOY

Out of 9 tests, 8 predicted BOY and 1 predicted GIRL...........come back next Friday (the 15th) to hear what the ultrasound says it is!

Week 16

Just to keep from being repetitive every week. Can I just say THIS IS GOING TOO FAST!!! Seriously, just put that at the first of every pregnancy post I do.

I have been feeling good this week! No nausea at all! I felt well enough to go walking with the dogs a couple days. I would have done it more but the weather here has been pretty cold and miserable most of the week. I am hoping for some better weather this next week.......but it is snowing outside right now, so I am not expecting it.

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 16 weeks
Size of baby: 4.5 inches long, or roughly the size of an Avacado....or Mango
Weight: 186.8
Total Weight Gain/Loss: -.6 lbs - Apparently I am losing rather than gaining, for now! My doctor said that looks perfect because I am a bit overweight to begin with.
Maternity Clothes: 1 pair of my regular pants fit (with the button undone)....and my one pair of fitting maternity pants got a hole in the crotch area.
Gender: Unknown
Movement: I am pretty sure now that I am feeling this little one jump around every so often. But it isn't more than once every few days.
Sleep: Better, but having crazy stressful dreams (that are NOT pregnancy related, but are for another story)
Symptoms: Still rare that any food sounds good.
Throw up tally: 2
What I miss: FOOD!! I miss wanting to eat!
Cravings: Still nothing...Though Robert says I have been eating a lot of eggs
Best Moment this week: Our baby doctor appointment this morning! We finally got to hear the heartbeat for a few seconds! I thought for a few minutes we would be getting another ultrasound because she couldn't find the heartbeat with the doppler. But then she did, and we got to hear it!
Looking Forward To: Our Gender ultrasound!!! We get to "hopefully" find out what this little one is on April 15th

Week 15!

Lol, apparently I missed week 14 so here is the pregnancy post for this week. I really can't believe I am already at week 15. Only 25 weeks until my due date......that scares the crap out of me!

I keep forgetting that I am pregnant. The only time I thought about it last week was when I threw up for the first time this pregnancy. That was a fun moment....let me tell you! It seems that this pregnancy is following along the pattern of Kaylee's where I didn't start actually throwing up until the first part of the second trimester.

My energy levels have been a little better this week, but I still randomly get exhausted. Luckily, the time change went relatively easy for Kaylee, but I am having a hard time going to bed earlier.....which makes for a tired momma.

Umm, not much else to report in the baby department. Our next appointment is next Friday, and I am hoping to get a babysitter this time because last time in the waiting room was a joke.

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 15 weeks
Size of baby: 4 inches long!!! I literally did a double take when I read that!
Weight: 188
Total Weight Gain/Loss: .6 lbs - I apparently lost a little bit since last time!
Maternity Clothes: 1 pair of my regular pants fit and one pair of maternity pants fit.....still wearing regular shirts so far.
Gender: Unknown
Movement: I think I have felt some little jumps and bumps, but not sure if it is phantom baby movement or actual baby movement.
Sleep: I have been sleeping better the last couple weeks, and I think I am going to get a prescription of the prenatals that I have been taking.
Symptoms: Still rare that any food sounds good. I bought a bunch of Girl Scout cookies (thinking of last time) and I think they may last until I am not pregnant anymore. They just don't taste good.
Throw up tally: 2
What I miss: Feeling good enough to run on the treadmill.
Cravings: Still nothing...
Best Moment this week: Honestly, I didn't really think about being pregnant for most of the week. So no favorite moments.

12 Weeks

For some reason I can't believe I am already 12 weeks along! This little one is going to be here before we know it!

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 12
Size of baby: 1.5 inches long
Weight: 188.2
Total Weight Gain/Loss: 1.8 lbs - not as bad as it seems, but I would rather not gain much at all this time around.
Maternity Clothes: 1 pair of my regular pants fit and one pair of maternity pants fit.....still wearing regular shirts so far.
Gender: Unknown
Movement: Not yet
Sleep: I have been having a very hard time staying asleep at night. I am going to be changing prenatal pretty soon to see if that helps.
Symptoms: Still pretty nauseous most days, really really really tired, it is very rare that any kind of food sounds good to me.
What I miss: Feeling good enough to run on the treadmill
Cravings: Nothing big yet.

Best Moment this week:
Getting this baby's first picture taken!

12 Weeks

What I am looking forward to: To hear the heartbeat!! The doctors have yet to find it at our appointments, which is why we got the ultrasounds. But I really want to HEAR it! Feeling this little one move. I can't wait for that first movement.

Oops, We Did it AGAIN!

This post has been coming since right after Christmas.....actually the day after.

Yeah, so pretty much we are pregnant again! YAY! This was a "first try" pregnancy, and we are a little shocked it happened so quickly. Here is another picture:

I promise there is a second line on the top test....it was a lot clearer in real life, and thats a crummy picture! The bottom one is pretty hard to misunderstand!

Our due date is September 9th, which makes me almost 8 weeks along, and I am super excited about it. We of course are hoping just for a healthy baby, but I would really love a little boy this time! Another girl would be fun too, but I am crossing my fingers for a boy.

I know this time around the hardest thing for me will be the weight gain. I am still WAY above the weight that I want to be at, and now I am going to have to gain more. I am actually AFRAID to weigh myself on Friday because I feel like I have already gained weight. Uber healthy eating here I come!

The rest of the hints

For those who wanted to see the rest of the clues, here they are with their explanation.

Mexican Food - because that is all I can think about eating lately.

Nuts - because we are.....

Fall - When this little one is due (September to be exact)

Peanut(s) - The nickname for the thing growing inside me!

Little footprints - I can't wait for these!

2 - because this is the second baby!

I figured by this last one everyone would have figured it out.

Ok SERIOUSLY?!?

1 HINT, THATS ALL?!? 1 hint and someone....2 someones guessed it?

Man, I need to get better at making up hints! Well, since both LauraK and Katlynn got it on the first try I am going to send both of them a little home-made prize. If you guys would comment with your address (I wont publish it) I will get those in the mail. Congrats smartypants!!

Yes, folks I am pregnant again! I am due in September, so things are still really early on in the process. The raspberry hint was because supposedly that is how big this little one is right now.
