It seems like this year happened in the blink of an eye! I can't believe how much our lives have changed in one year. We went from a family of 3 to a family of 5 for heaven's sake!! Here is a brief look back at what happened through the year for us.
January: I played a lot of agility with Hobbs, and we spent the month duct taping Kaylee into her night time diapers.
February: We announced that we were once again expecting a September baby.
March: Robert and I worked hard getting our front yard ready for planting grass. I suffered through a rough first trimester of pregnancy.
April: Hobbs and I played in a couple amazing agility trials, I reached the half way point in the pregnancy, and we were shocked at our 20 week ultrasound to find out we were having TWIN GIRLS!!
May: We adjusted to the idea of suddenly becoming a family of 5
June: I moved into the 3rd trimester of the pregnancy and went with my family to Washington to visit my sister and her family.
July: Kaylee turned 3!!
August: We celebrated what would have been Cadence's first birthday, went camping with me being 35 weeks pregnant!! The middle part of the month is a blur because it was BY FAR the most difficult part of the pregnancy, and probably the most uncomfortable I have ever been in my entire life. On the 28th we welcomed our new little girls into the world and into our family.
September: We adjusted to life with three, Kaylee started preschool, and Robert started an out of town job in Colorado leaving me home to take care of the kids on my own.
October: The month was crazy with Robert being gone most of the time, and my mom coming to help most weeks. We all dressed up for Halloween and Kaylee loved trick or treating
November: We blessed the babies, I received a bear in remembrance of Cadence, and I struggled with some mommy guilt after being on my own for practically two months straight.
December: Robert continued to work out of town and I stopped having my mom come as often so that I could learn to do things totally on my own. We had a crazy Christmas with family visiting, and welcomed the end of the year by going to bed early.
It was a crazy year, but I have to say that I loved almost every single part of it! I can not wait to see what 2013 will bring!

Guns n Christmas
Seems like an odd combination doesn't it? I certainly thought so, right up until right before Christmas morning. Then I realized that Robert and I weren't the only ones gifting guns, and we all made plans to go shooting the next day. It was fabulous!
This little beauty?
Is MINE!! I love that it's pink!
Robert got a rifle, but I don't have a picture of it yet.
The day we went shooting was awesome! We took several rifles, my new gun, Kathryn's new gun, and a couple others and had a great time wasting ammo.

Unfortunately, my little gun decided it didn't want to work properly. I was having to clear the chamber by hand after every shot! I cleaned and oiled it really well after we went home, and I am hoping it cooperates better next time.
Crazy Christmas
***Warning*** This post is very pic heavy!!
This year was our year to spend Christmas with my family, and it turned out to be a wonderfully crazy week together. My older sister and her little family came in from Seattle and it was great to see them again. They got to meet Courtney and Alexis for the first time! Kaylee loved having her cousin to play with. I feel like I never get to see my little brother and sister either so it was nice to see them too.
My sister and her family:

Mom:

Robert….Haha!

My little brother, who was sick the entire Christmas break

We spent most of the week at the house talking and playing with the babies. The girls (Kaylee and Evie) played outside as much as possible and they loved the little sledding hill in my parents’ back yard. We all went to see the local park that was decorated with lights, went sledding behind the snowmobile (awesome btw!), built a snowman, did last-minute Christmas shopping, and generally enjoyed our week together.
Now for the pictures!

I was wearing 4 layers and was STILL freezing!

Kaylee really loved her uncle James

The girls in a rare moment on the floor

Grandpa with his new grandbabies

Jenetta was nice enough to open several pomegranates

Breakfast whilst getting ready to play play-doh

Evie with her new cousins

All the grand children

Me and my big girl!

Dancing in front of the tree

Twinies!

Kaylee and uncle Daniel

Playing the piano

Courtney and Alexis and Grandpa

Everyone on their computers

The girls watching Caillou
Seriously, sledding this way will change your perception of sledding FOREVER!

Kaylee loved sledding behind the snow machine!
Christmas Eve was spent watching bible videos, talking about Christ, reading the Christmas story from the bible, and singing carols. It was a beautiful evening together.
Then came Christmas morning! I loved how excited Kaylee was this year. Christmas is just getting more and more fun for her. This year she understood the whole Santa thing, and was super excited Christmas Eve when we told her he was"finally" coming that night.

Taking a picture at the top or bottom of the stairs before going to see the stockings and gifts from Santa is a family tradition. I love it!

Haha! This is what Christmas morning with 12 people looks like!

Evie showing off her stocking candies

Helping uncle Daniel pass out presents

all but one of my loves

Kathryn was the best dressed of the morning!

Kaylee came in a close second with her new Christmas jammies

I think one of Kaylee's favorite presents was her new fairy dress......which she wore the rest of the day and most of the rest of the week.
The end of the week was bitter sweet. It was nice to be home and get back to our normal routine, but it was so sad to say goodbye to my sister and her family. I miss them, and wish they were closer so we could see them more than twice a year. All in all it was a wonderful Christmas!
