Kaylee 3.5

Our big girl is half way to turning 4! Kaylee has grown and changed so much in the past 6 months! She is adjusting pretty well to being a big sister, but I am sure she misses time with her mom. I know I miss our one on one time together! The reality of having twins means I have to take advantage of any time I get to play with her. Sometimes that means playing in the snow without the proper clothes on……for me anyways.
The babies had fallen asleep so Kaylee and I ran out to  play in the snow.
Kaylee was properly dressed in her snow clothes.


I was in my pajama pants, no socks, and not-so-water proof-snow boots.

Despite the lack of snow clothes, we had a great time making snow angels, throwing snow, and trying to keep from being run over by Hobbs





Kaylee is such a spirited girl! She has started playing pretend, and loves when I have time to play with her. Her favorite toys right now (favorite subject in general) is My Little Ponies. I think it was about a year ago that I vowed never to let her like the new version of My Little Ponies……yeah that didn’t work. She would watch MLP all day long every day of the week if we let her. She has several ponies
She loves building forts! Thanks for that goes to Robert. He made one for her out of chairs and a blanket and it stuck. Our kitchen chairs were downstairs for almost a week before I had to figure out a different way to build them. We make them with cardboard boxes, blankets over the treadmill, couches cushions, and most recently, a blanket hung in the babies’ closet. Her favorites are still with the chairs and a blanket though.


This was shortly after Christmas and she had been living in her new dress up clothes and playing with her new ponies for days on end.


At 3 and a half, Kaylee is growing into a beautiful young lady. She is still quite difficult to take pictures of, but I did manage to get a couple good ones on her half birthday.

I love this one! I told her to put her hands on her face and she did for about 5 seconds, but I was lucky enough to get a picture.

Goals

Leave it to me to take until FEBRUARY to write down my goals for this year. Oh well, that's what I get for having twins!

Anyways, lets look back on last year's goals.....though I think it is going to be pretty pathetic.

 Resolutions for 2011

* Read the Book of Mormon! ......Can I just say FAIL on this one?

* Be better about Family Home Evenings - Yup....another FAIL :(

* Run a 5K - Technically a FAIL on this one to, but to be fair, I grew two human beings instead.

* Weigh in at 150 by the end of the year and/or fit into my size 9 jeans - Haha!! NOPE!

* Upgrade to a bigger vehicle - Finally one I actually did!! 

* Get out of debt! - We are so close!

* Practice and play my Flute and Bagpipes more - I just recently pulled my flute out, but the pipes have spent another year in their box. I can't bear the thought of parting with them though.

* Spend more quality time with Robert - Not sure if I really made the best effort at this one :(

* Hike more - Nope again! FAIL!

* Be Happy! - I do feel like I had a happy year!

* Get Cadence a headstone - It breaks my heart that I have to put a FAIL next to this one again :*(

* Possibly find a pre-school I like for Kaylee - Found a preschool.....not sure I like it

* Be more involved as a mother - Until September I think I did an ok job at this. Since the babies came it has been an epic FAIL.

* Possibly start seeing a therapist - Haha! I must have been having a bad week or something when I wrote this one. FAIL, but I really never thought about it after I wrote it down as a goal.

* Start teaching dog training classes - FAIL again! I would still like to someday, but not in the near future

* Get a 3-6 month supply of food storage - FAIL, but we are closer than we were last year.

* Get a bike and ride it - FAIL......bikes are overrated ;)

Now for some well thought out ones for this coming year.

Family:
* Family Home Evening -  This NEEDS to happen!
* Spend quality, active, one on one time with Kaylee every day.
* Turn off the TV - It is on entirely too much since the babies were born
* Date night once a month - This too NEEDS to happen!
* Get Cadence a headstone

Health/Fitness:
* Run a 5K
* Run a 10K
* Complete the Fit2Fat2Fit program
* Complete P90X
* Start walking again
* Hike more
* Eat more fruits and veggies

Spiritual:
* Finish Book of Mormon
* Family Home Evening - You think it's more likely to happen since I wrote it down twice?
* Work harder in my calling
* Go to the temple at least once a month

Other:
* Take more pictures - I feel like the only pictures I have of the babies are their monthly staged ones, and I know I don't have very many at all of Kaylee!
* De-Junk and organize the house! - My mom may be called in to help with this one.....she is the master of organized households.
* Get grass in the back yard
* Paint
* NOT get pregnant!! - I realized that I have been pregnant at some point every year since 2008!! 2007 was the first and only year Robert and I have been married that I haven't been pregnant. I am really truly hoping to not get pregnant at all this year.
