Boy?

I decided to get this IntelliGender thing online (it was on sale so I couldn't resist) and finally took it this morning. Well just look what it is predicting we are having!


Now I know that this isn't totally accurate, but it goes along with what I feel like I am having so I am going to believe it! Unfortunatly the "boy" results are a little less accurate than the girl results, but oh, well! I can't wait until I get to find out for real what this little one is!

Oh, and I found another crib bedding set that I LOVE if we end up having a girl!

But I won't be buying it unless the doctor says it is a girl.

Week 11!!

I decided to start doing these on the first day of each week rather than half way through. I can't believe it is week 11 already! It has gone by so quickly and I can only imagine the next 6 months will go by just as fast. Just two weeks and I will be into my second trimester! I guess it is time to start making a list of everything we need to get before July, and start collecting those things.

I have been feeling pretty good this week! A couple nauseous days, but mostly just a little tired. I am hoping my energy continues to improve.

IT FELL OFF!!!!

During our visit to my parent's house for Christmas somehow the big ugly wart on Patriot's tongue fell off! Well most of it.....There are still a couple little spots, but the big cauliflower looking part of it is gone! I am so thankful that it came off, because chances are it was just a normal dog mouth wart rather than a cancerous growth. Hopefully it stays gone! Here are a couple pictures of how the boys spent their Christmas week:

For Christmas they got a big yummy knuckle bone each, a little squeaker dog, and a half a box of gravy covered milkbones. It was very very cold outside most of the time, but luckly they were allowed into the house all day and night.

Christmas Carnage

I had the most wonderful Christmas this year! We spent most of it with my family, and my sister and her husband came from WA for the week. They got delayed by storms there, but finally made it here on Tuesday night. Robert and I went down (with the dogs) that night and just got home today. It was so wonderful to spend all that time with my family.

Christmas eve we all relaxed, talked, and basically enjoyed each other's company. Robert went up to his parent's house to talk to his sister who is on a mission in Germany. I can't believe that she comes home in February!! It doesn't seem like it has been 18 months sense she left. Jenetta and I drove up to look at the crib bedding that I ended up buying, and my little sister went up to her apartment to get my mom's gift. That night we read Christmas stories, had a wonderful dinner with my grandma and her husband. I had a hard time for some reason eating most of the thanksgiving like food. So basically I ate corn and salad for dinner. I am so happy that my family focuses on the true meaning of Christmas. I am so thankful that Christ came into this world in such a humble way, and that he is the savior of all of us. It is a wonderful gift to everyone. We all stayed up late and then "Santa" filled the stockings and set out gifts. I had a rough night because Patriot had an accident inside, and had to be rushed outside.

Christmas morning was great! I LOVE Christmas morning, and opening the presents. My favorite part is watching my family members open the presents I got for them. It is great to watch their reactions to what I hope is the perfect gift. Robert and I got a bunch of great gifts, and even though this was a pretty low budget year for everyone in the family it was still wonderful. I think my favorite gift this year was a toss up between the pregnant belly cream from my sister, and the exercise ball from Robert. For the rest of the day, we tried to stay in doors because it was a blizzard outside. When it did clear up a little, we took some family pictures which I will post sometime, actually I will be posting all my Christmas pictures when I get them loaded. We went to see the movie "Tale of Despereaux" but I was so tired from the night and day that I slept through the middle of the movie. It was a cute story though....what I saw of it anyways. That evening we did Christmas puzzles, and talked....I think...my poor brain can't remember!

The next day, Robert and I went up to his parents' house to visit. Everyone of the kids, except me, played Halo for hours. I just watched and then slept a little bit. We had dinner, and then watched P.S I Love You. Then we drove back to my parents' house for the night.

Today was a very fun day! We all got bundled up and went snowmobiling, and sledding. I drove a snowmobile for the first time in my life and it was very scary and fun at the same time. The best part of the day was when my dad pulled us behind the snowmobile in sleds. We used to do that as kids with our cousins in Idaho and it brought back a lot of memories. Poor Robert got his lip cut open with a sled, but he still had fun. It was VERY cold right at the beginning, but then the sun came out and warmed things up a bit. Then we came home to our house, and found that all was well! It is SOOO nice to be home, and have the house and each other to ourselves. My family is coming up tomorrow to see the house (my sister from WA hasn't' seen it yet) but for now it is just us and the dogs.

This is the winter of 1995 in Shelly ID. The snow was so deep that our horses would have been able to walk over the top of our pasture fence so we barricaded them in the small corral by the "barn" (really just a shelter). This is what the horses looked like for most of the winter! Don't worry, they had shelter filled with straw, and had already grown winter coats. The wind just blew enough that it coated them in ice and snow. I know it doesn't' have anything to do with dogs, I just thought I would share!

I did it!!

Posted about this a few days ago, and thought that I had gotten it out of my system....apparently not. I called today to see if the crib bedding set was still available, and it was! So I met the lady in town to see it. Then I gave in and bought it!! I am so excited to get my crib and decorate my nursery! Now I am really hoping we have a boy!

This is the dog park in Bakersfield CA. Robert is standing behind the fence with the black hat on, and our dog "Dodge" is the little black one sniffing the grayhound. I loved this dog park, and we went at least once a week with Dodge....mostly because he needed it!

Furnature!!

I am so excited to announce that we have FURNATURE!! We have been paying on this couch/loveseat set for over a month and have had a very empty living room in our new house. Then finally yesterday they were delivered and paid for! So here is the new addition to our living room!


Yes they even still have the tags on them!

All that is left to do it get an area rug, a coffie table, and a buffet for the wall that is just to the right of the bottom picture. It will be a while for that though because the baby stuff is going to come first on the budget! We do need an area rug though, the poor dogs hate the slippery floor!

Christmas Carnage

Robert and I can't seem to go to the pet store without bringing something home for the boys to play with. The last time, we bought two Christmas toys for the sole purpose of letting them shred them to bits. They don't get stuffed toys often for that reason. I would rather not pay for surgery to remove impacted toy fluff! So here is a picture of what happened to these poor little toys. I forgot to take a before pic, but oh, well!


The only way I could get a picture to show the fluff was without flash, so Hobbs kind of dissapears.

Now all that is left is shreds of the "skin" of the toys...and the ropes from one of the toys.

Week 9 Day 4

This week has been a much better week nausea-wise, but I have been very tired and un motivated all week. The poor dogs have barely gotten out all week, due mostly to the lack of energy on my part but also to the weather. Walking or hiking in blizzards is no fun. Anyways here are my stats for the week!

• Weight: 157.2 Concidering I weighed in at almost 160 at my appointment! I decided I hate doctor's scales!
• Waist: 33 1/2"
• TP square measurement: 9 sq
• Bra size: Maternity Medium....so at least an E!
• Sleeping Schedule: Go to Bed @ 10:00-10:30am and Wake Up @ 8:03am!
• Exercise Schedule: 45-50 minute medium walking with dogs 2 days a week, 60 minute easy canyon hike 2x a week

I was getting tired of having to look at my bare belly every week over and over, so the rest of the pictures will be like this one. I am sure that once I start actually showing I will take a couple bare belly ones, but for now covered will be fine!

Vent

I am just going to vent for a second about all the great deals I have found on ksl/craigslist just today! There are such cute crib bedding sets for sale, and I can't get any of them because I don't know what I am having!! I am just a little frustrated, and hope that there are still good ones for sale when I know what I am looking for! This is one I especially am tempted to buy....and then sell if it turns out to be a girl!

This bedding would even make it so we didn't have to paint the room!

First Doctors Appointment

Well, I have been reprimanded for not posting about my first doctors appointment so here is that post! Lol!

Robert and I went to our ultrasound yesterday, and it was great! Really fast, but good. We got to hear the heartbeat, and see the little peanut on the screen. I think Robert was more excited about it than me! I think he finally realized that this is real. He got all giddy and excited it was cute. They gave us a picture of our little one:

It is a picture of a picture but it came out pretty well! Click on it to enlarge it to see it better.

This picture is amazing. I could look at it all day! It is amazing to see him/her. It still seems unreal that it is really inside me, but I have heard its normal to think that. The doctor said the baby is the right size for being just over 9 weeks, and measures in at about 1 inch.

We recorded the heartbeat on a voice recorder, but I can't figure out how to get it on here. I will keep trying though. I was so excited that we actually got to hear it! I was expecting to see it (which I didn't) but not hear it. I didn't see any movement on the ultrasound, but it was a very short and to the point! They record the ultrasounds on a dvd and we keep it, but the recording was just the paused part where she measured the baby....it was like 15 seconds long. Hopefully the next one isn't as rushed. After all of that they took like half of my blood for tests and sent us on our way! We go back in a month for the next one, and I can't wait! I had a little bit of a scare after the appointment, but all is ok and normal (thanks Kalynne for answering my email!) and I am not freaking out anymore!

Sorry I haven't done my weekly stats update! I was feeling crummy on saturday, and then just never got around to doing it. This saturday I will try my hardest to get it posted!

Christmas Time!

Every year I love Christmas more and more! It is just a magical time of year! Robert and I finally got our tree up on Monday. We didn't do it before because Robert was in Chicago on business. It was insanely hard for us to find a tree lot in Ogden! In Salt Lake there is one on almost every corner, but here we drove all the way across town before we finally stopped and asked someone if there even was one. They directed us to one, and we found our tree. I don't know why, but I really love Christmas trees. Its not because they are pretty or smell nice or are part of Christmas, its because I feel like I am rescuing the tree from the lot and giving it a purpose.

So we brought the tree inside, set it in the stand, and watered it. Then we left it to thaw and relax overnight. Finally we got to decorate it, and here is the end result!

Let it Snow!

I don't have a lot of interesting things to post, so I decided to take some snow pictures of the boys. They are both loving the white stuff, and always ask to go outside. Unfortunatly I am not quite feeling up to sitting outside while they eat snow, frozen leaves, frozen apples, and poopsicles. Oh, the joys of winter!

Patriot - Rally Obedience!

For a while now I have wanted Patriot and I to have our own special thing to do together, just like Hobbs and I have Agility. He isn't the kind of dog that could do agility and have fun with it. I drug him over a couple jumps in the back yard, and then he laid down on the ground so I couldn't do it anymore lol. He definitely knows how to get his way!

Yesterday I got an email from a wonderful lady who has been getting me information about agility classes in Ogden. I had asked her almost a month ago about a possible Rally-Obedience class starting soon. She got back to me and told me their is a Rally class starting in January. So I signed Patriot and me up for it! I am really hoping that we have the skills necessary to go into the class (the pre-requisite class was a CGC prep class so I think we will be fine) and have fun.

For those who don't know what Rally is here is a link to the AKC description of it. I don't know if we will even like it, but I have heard it is really fun for both the human and the dog. Patriot's obedience is a little rusty though so we will be working on it the next couple weeks. For the life of me, I can not get through to Patriot about the concept of the clicker. He just doesn't get it! We have been working on just a nose touch to the hand for over a month and he still doesn't get it....if he happens to touch my hand it is because he is sniffing for a treat!

I will update about our progress and classes once we start them!

Panic Attack!!

I lost Hobbs today............















Ok, here is the whole story. We decided this morning to go hiking up on the mountain even though it was snowing and very foggy. I wanted to let the boys play in the snow, and they enjoyed themselves very much! Well about half way into our hike, the boys had run around the corner out of sight and I didn't hurry to follow them. They are good about stopping and waiting for me to catch up.....usually. Well when I got around the corner, I could see Patriot on the side of a small hill, but not Hobbs which I thought was weird because Hobbs stays pretty close to Patriot. So I called Patriot too me, and waited for Hobbs to follow him. When he didn't I started to wonder if he had continued down the trail and around the next corner. So I called for him, fully expecting him to come rushing towards me at any second. He didn't.....so I called again....and again....and again. Then I started to get worried.

I turned around and went back the way I had come, and couldn't see him. The trail was following the curve of the mountain so it looked a little like a big S with another loop on the top. So I could move about 50-100 feet to see one full loop of the trail and then the other. He wasn't on either of them, and I kind of started to panic. I called, and called, and whistled, and called! I listened for his tags jingling (a sound that carries a ways) and couldn't hear a thing. Then I thought I hear a dog crying like it was in pain, and that is when I started to full on panic. I think I was imagining things though because I didn't hear it again. The trail is right up on the side of the mountain, so the down hill side is very steep and drops right off from the trail. Patriot kept looking down one gully with his ears pricked like he was hearing something, but I couldn't hear anything or see anything!

The fog wasn't bad right at first when we started our walk, but it started closing in to where I couldn't see more than 10 feet off the trail. I also stopped being able to see clear to the other side of the trail loop! All I could do was call and scream Hobbs' name. I ran back and forth on the trail, but didn't want to go back or continue on in case he was trying to find me! I tried to stay calm, but as the minutes passed it became harder and harder. I didn't know what I would do if I couldn't find him! I was even hoping that I would at least find him hurt, so that I would have him back. After about 30-40 minutes I decided that I needed to do something different, so I continued on the trail still calling ever two steps. My plan was to go back to the car, and then start over if needed.

When I was down and around the next trail loop, I looked back and saw my little black puppy clear back where I had first lost him! He was just standing on the trail staring in my direction! I called to him, and started running back towards him. He frantically ran towards me, and couldn't get to me fast enough. I grabbed him, and hugged him (crying of course, I am pregnant!) and checked him all over looking for something that would somehow tell me where he was.....I wasn't thinking quite clearly lol. He was panting really hard, and his little heart was going crazy. He was very stressed, and very happy to have found me. Then we finished our walk, and came home. Hobbs is very tired, and didn't want to even get out of the car when we were home because he was sleeping.

I am so incredibly glad that he came back, and somehow was ok! That was the scariest thing that has ever happened on one of our walks! I don't know what I would have ever done if I hadn't found him.....I can't even think about it. So everyone hug your puppies, and be glad that you have them!

Agility Trial

Yesterday Hobbs and I went to an Agility trial that I have been excited about for months! No we didn't compete, but just went to watch and let Hobbs get used to the excitement of a trial. I was lucky enough to feel good that day, so I didn't have to worry about being miserable. Hobbs was really bored, and wanted to go home after watching a few dogs run.

I met a few people that train and practice here in Ogden/Davis county, and hopefully we will get to practice with them soon. It was great to meet so many friendly people who were excited for me. The courses were great, and it looked like so much fun! I forgot my camera, so sorry but no pictures:(

The dogs all looked like they were having a ton of fun! Some of them took that too far and went around jumping and taking obstacles by themselves, or jumping out of the ring, or just doing crazy labby scoot laps around the ring. Speaking of labs, there was only 1 lab in the whole trial! He is a yellow lab and is very fast but very very noisy and barks the whole time before, during, and after his runs. I hope Hobbs doesn't learn that habit. Most of the dogs were border collies, and Aussies, with some shelties and corgies mixed in. There were also a few smaller breed dogs who all did great and were fun to watch. I can't wait to be out there with them!

Week 7 Day 4!

It is crazy that I only have 4 more weeks until I am done with my first trimester!! It is going by so quickly, but I keep thinking we have tons of time to get ready.
I have been trying this week to not eat everything in the house. I have been eating apples when I get nauseous/hungry in between meals and they have been helping a lot. Also I have been trying to eat healthy rather than just eating junk.....not always though because for some reason I have been craving fast food like crazy!

Another symptom this week has been weird dreams! I dont' usually remember them very well, but I wake up with the distinct feeling that I have been having really strange dreams. Last night, for example, I dreamed that Patriot's tongue was completely covered in warts! He has one on his tongue now, but this was really crazy! I also dreamed that I had twins! I saw them on the sonogram, and then had them as babies but can't remember if they were girls, boys, or one of each!

This week I have been feeling reletivley very good! Today has been a really bad day though. I haven't been able to even sit up on the couch without getting really dizzy and nauseous. No puking though! I have been extremely lucky to not be that sick! I try not to complain about it too much because I know it could be so much worse. I really feel bad for those ladies who are throwing up the whole day!

Festival of Trees and Emotions

Last night my little sister and I went to the Festival of Trees in Sandy. I didn't have my camera with me but here are the pictures on the main site. Robert and I went last year and had a wonderful time being absolutely amazed by some of the trees. This year was still very nice, but I wasn't quite as impressed with the trees. I was impressed with a lot of the gingerbread houses though. I can't wait to decorate houses this year with my family. There were a few trees that I really liked though, some where really just cute, and some were very unique and beautiful.

One was covered in little ornaments that had names on them, then I looked at the title of the tree and almost started crying. The title was Angel Babies. This was a tree dedicated to over a hundred little babies who didn't make it very far in life. It made me ache for the parents of those little ones. I teared up and had to turn away to keep from bawling. The money from this festival goes to Primary Children's Hospital and many of the trees were dedicated to children who died there at the hospital. Every one tore at my heart, and I am sure it is because I am already becoming super attached to our little one. It sounds harsh, but I am trying NOT to be too attached. There is still a chance of miscarriage, and I don't want to get attached to the point that I would be crushed by loosing the baby this early.

On that note, I have been so emotional this week!! Everything makes me tear up! I thought about what I would do without my dogs (they are keeping me company for the two weeks without my husband) and almost broke down crying. Every time I hug them I tear up and get a lump in my throat. I cry at things on tv, even the things I have already seen before!! For example of a silly one, I was watching ER and one of the girls on the show got yelled at for doing something stupid and she started crying and SO DID I!! It was really pathetic, and I am just waiting for it to get worse and worse as I get more hormones pumped into my system. Oh, and I also started getting choked up because I was really tired earlier today! I was sitting on my couch, and just felt overly tired so I almost started crying rather than lay down and sleep!

Sneeky Boy!

A few nights ago Robert and I were sitting on the couch watching TV and the boys were sleeping on the floor.....or so we thought. I looked down to check on them, and Patriot wasn't laying where he had been so I looked around the room and this is what I saw!

When I first looked over he had his head tucked in towards his belly and it was so cute! Patriot just doesn't get up on the furnature like that! He is very hard to coax onto the couch or bed, but aparently the chair was just too tempting for him to resist!

Lol, I am pathetic!

Ok, please don't judge me too harshly for this post! I know I am pathetic!

Over a year ago Robert bought the full set of old Kings Quest computer games. If you have ever played Kings Quest 4 (the one with the unicorn, and ogre, and fairies) that is the particular game I am talking about.

Anyways, I played it with my siblings a TON when I was younger, and always loved it. We NEVER beat even one level of the game (we only had KQ 4 and 7) and it was frustraiting. So when Robert bought them, I wanted to try to figure it out....no luck! This week Robert brought them out again, and I started playing around on it again. This time I decided to be a loser and look up the game walk-through. If you don't know what a walk through is, it is a step by step guide to beating the game. I tried it a little and then Robert left this morning for two weeks of job training in Chicago :( Needless to say I was bored, and so I started playing the game with the walk through. After about 4 hours of playing I BEAT THE WHOLE LEVEL!!! Kathryn and Jenetta, I know you will be proud of me because you know how frustrating that game was, and I got all the way through it! I don't know how anyone ever beats these games without the walkthroughs, or at least hints! It was really really difficult! So now I feel like a silly child because I am just so proud that I finally finished the game! And I even cheated the whole way through!!!
