Goodbye to 2009....

So much happened this year, and everything in my life changed so much! I cant even imagine how amazing this next year will be!

Lets review the resolutions of 2009:

*Enjoy (for the most part) the rest of my pregnancy - I did it! I really really LOVED being pregnant and even when I got big and couldn't do things I still was fascinated by the whole process.
*Get baby essentials without going broke - Done! We were even able to get a decent stash of lovely cloth diapers
*Make more friends - Done! I don't think I am ever going to have a close (the talk on the phone all day, "lets do each other's nails" kind lol) girl friend, but I made some great friends this year.
*Go out with friends more - Kind of Done. I got to go to some more Girls Nights, and we went out with some of Robert's married friends a couple of times. I would have liked to go out with them more though.
*Eat Healthy - "Eat to live" style - Nope. Sadly, I didn't do it.
*Cook more - Kind of. I was cooking more before I had Kaylee. But now it is a little difficult for me because I can't have any dairy in my diet, and Robert is on a really strict diet preparing him to run marathons.
*Stay active despite the pregnancy - Done! I was walking, hiking and playing agility until the weekend before she came I am VERY proud of that fact!
*Read scriptures and pray more - Nope....This is one that is a constant struggle for me.

I didn't really try very hard on my resolutions this year, but managed to complete most of them. They year flew by so quickly and was amazing. I feel like I missed out on some of the things I could have taken advantage of, so hopefully I can make up for it next year....starting tomorrow!

Eat To Live

So usually my list of resolutions includes the all popular "Lose Weight". This year that isn't an option so instead I am going to be trying to eat healthier....as in a LOT healthier. My parents were turned onto this book Eat To Live by my aunt. It is a way of eating that very closely follows the health guide lines of my religion. It is mostly a vegetarian (almost vegan) diet with meat thrown in sparingly, as in maybe once a week. I am planning to get the book and read it before I totally start eating that way, but for now I have been trying to add a lot more fruits and veggies to my meals. I think the hardest part of the diet will be cutting out so much of the meat we usually eat! Being pregnant I know I need a lot of protein so I will probably still be eating some kind of meat or eggs every day. It will just be once a day though rather than all three meals!

My biggest hope in eating this way is that I will only gain what is healthy during pregnancy, and be able to lose it quickly after the baby is born.

2008 In Review

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I had a fun, if not toned down, new years party with some of Robert's friends. We all got together and watched a movie and then played Apples to Apples for the rest of the evening. Wow, that sounds really boring. Last year we all went clubbing, and spent the night dancing, and drinking (well they drank, we didn't). But this wasn't boring, it was fun, and I think everyone had a good time! Sorry no pictures! Here are the old resolutions from 2008:

*Save more money - Done! We did a very good job at saving some of each check!
*Lose the rest of the 20 lbs I had planned to lose before thanksgiving - Blah, nope! I think the most I lost the whole year was 5 lbs! Pathetic!
*Take more pictures of the people in my life....not just my dogs - Done! Not a ton of extra non-dog pictures, but some!
*Eat healthier - Done! I think I did a good job of this!
*Learn to cook more things (one new recipe every week) - Partially done! I cooked a lot of new things almost every week!
*Get actual prints of my digital pictures and scrapbook them - Done....well kind of. I got prints of the pictures and put them in an album. Scrap booking just isnt' for me!
*Get Patriot's training back on track (after a 4 1/2 year break) - Done. He is much better behaved than he was
*Learn all I can about driving Minis and training minis to drive - Nope! I read a bit, but didn't buy any books....thankfully!
*Buy a good mini that I can show - I came within a 4 hour drive of buying a mini, but backed out at the last second, and finally decided that it wasn't for me right now.
*Smile more - Nope....Sadly I didn't get very far with this one.
*Be more active - DONE!! I was much more active almost every day this year!
*Make some girlfriends - Big Fat Nope! I am really horrible about this.
*Take a photography class - Nope! Never even looked into one!
*Stay married!! - Done! Lol, again it was a joke!

And here are the resolutions of 2009!

Enjoy (for the most part) the rest of my pregnancy

Get baby essentials without going broke

Make more couple friends

Go out with friends more

Make at least 1 girl friend

Eat Healthy - Eat to live style

Cook more

Stay active despite the pregnancy

Read scriptures and pray more

I am sure I will add to this list, but for now there it is! Also, I will probably be writing another one once the baby is born. Lol, this is the first time in a few years that one of my goals isn't to lose weight!
