I thought I would share

I forgot to point out something about the agility trial that was kind of a big deal. Well, to other people there, not so much to me. What caused all the comments and questions?

These did:

These are my Vibram five finger "shoes"

They are meant to mimic being barefoot and let the foot work the way it is built to work.

They don't have a lot...ok any... traction on the bottoms but they worked great on the dirt arena we were running on. I don't remember slipping even once!

So, the answer to the question I got most over the weekend was "yes I run/ran in these!"

It actually was really not a big deal to me. I have been practicing in them for a couple months, and the only time I wished I had had regular tennis shoes was once when I landed heel first (a no no in these) right on a big rock and bruised my heel pretty badly. Other than that, I use them for everything except church!

On Saturday I ran in this pair because the arena dirt had been tilled up and was getting in the tops of the other ones. I didn't want to risk getting a rock in there in the middle of one of my runs. These, of course, worked just as well!

A side view of these ones

Three of the people who stopped me to ask about my shoes said they were really interested, and one came back up to me on Saturday to ask about pricing, styles (she had researched them online), durability, and adjustment time. I hope I convinced her to at least go try a pair on. I can not say enough how much I love these shoes!

I am getting another pair sometime next month that are just like the grey and pink ones above, but they are black and have actual tread on the bottoms! Yay for more reliable traction! They are not supposed to be any thicker on the bottoms so hopefully that will be true for the pair I get. Then I wont be as worried about running on wet grass if that come up in a future trial....which it will.
